I just watched New Moon for a second time. I am always surprised. This book/world take-over is all about weird stuff and romance--you would think I would be all over it.
(I think it is because there is a complete lack of respect for food) I don't think I could force myself to read the other three books, but I have to admit that I am in LOVE with the movies. I can't really describe why. I find myself laughing throughout the entire thing. How could anyone not like these movies? My favorite part of New Moon was the last line. "Marry me Bella."
wait for it.
Wait for it.
Music . . . music . . .
and finally
"GASP"
It must have been so surprising to her that he wanted to marry her after she demanded to spend eternity with him as a damned soul. Now she has to decide to marry the sucker (no pun intended, honestly I am that witty in-deliberately)WHAT A HUGE DECISION FOR AN 18 YEAR OLD TO MAKE. I mean, she already had to choose if she wanted to be a vampire FOREVER. But this, this is too grown up-ish. It would be so much easier to lead Jacob on if she wasn't married. How will she convince him to do whatever she wants him to do if she is legally bound to the undead?
It is just too funny. I can't wait for Eclipse. I just am so excited to laugh. Hopefully I won't offend anyone in the theater.

Classic Wisdom for the Professional Life is a book that doesn’t make a single mistake. It is an easy read that applies to everyone (student, butcher, baker etc.) Despite the repetitive nature, there is something of a gem between the covers. Names that you know, and names that you don’t know, give the feeling that you have some kind of contact with a few of the world’s most successful people. The discoveries that they share are endearing, uplifting, and motivating. The book itself is not an in-your-face presentation, but a gentle nudge to work harder for the things you love.
You could probably live without this book, but why deny yourself insight to the way to live your dreams? Whatever your reason for buying Classic Wisdom for the Professional Life, it is requisite to do something after reading it. Pass it on. As is anything classic or anything wise, this book is meant to be pondered, understood, and—most importantly—shared.

It's all about . . .

GRE- DONE-ZO!!! BEST FEELING EVER! I wish all of you could have been in the car with me. After shaking, laughing, smiling, and sighing, Queen came on the radio to sing WE WILL ROCK YOU that transitioned into WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS. If you had been in the passenger seat you would have witnessed pounding on the steering wheel with the music loud yelling "YES! YEAH! WOOOH!" and so on. Screaming out only half of the words because I didn't know them all, I euphorically drove home.
I now have an even greater admiration and respect for Rachael Susan James Mulder. Taking that test was so painful. It took every ounce of dedication that I had to keep answering questions. RSJM=HEROINE of MJW- Darling I love you.
and now for the less admirable, and maybe even despicable, the rest of my thoughts that are bursting . . .
GLEE- Should this show be my life? Subtract the high school drama and the 21st century concerns of sexual orientation . . . ok subtract everything but the encouragement to sing for every new scene of life! I was really touched by some moments in the last episode.
Let him go Finn. And you really shouldn't be the male lead. You really can't sing. Too bad. You are now the minority- you were chosen only for your looks.
Kurt- You go girl. I never thought falsetto could be done well, let alone euphoniously.
Mercedes- you are beautiful. Can't stop loving your voice.
Jesse St. James- Could any voice be sweeter? Like honey, it lingers. It sticks to everything and I can't stop thinking "Is it me you're searching for?" It is amazing how fast I remember my fantasies of living in a musical. This reminds me to be certain to marry a musician. Vocally irresistable. I can't resist such a voice in a man.
Rachael- you will always be No. 1. Even when I don't like the songs that they have you sing, I think you are the best.
ARTIE- PLEASE LET HIM SING! HIS VOICE COULD CATCH CLOUDS AND PIN THEM DOWN
I wish I was Glee. I can't describe the desire this show has brought out of me to sing before all. Sad sad. Some dreams must be sacrificed so others may come true. :(
LOST- So sick of you. But also kind of intrigued by the character's knowledge of the alternate universes. However, J.J. Abrams- did you really have to go about time travel screw-ups using the same system as in Star Trek? You are creative. Maybe it was bad timing? Glad Jack has changed. I always hated his Do or Die attitude. If the Kwans end up unhappy I think I will cry every time I meet a Korean. They have to be happy after all that they have gone through. Love rekindled is the greatest power. Don't care about Kate. Don't care about Sawyer. Don't care about Jack. Really don't care about Ben Linus (even though I like his low key role now. He and Jack are parallel. Both tried to control everyone around them for so long. Now they have both given up leading and are learning how to follow. The puppet masters lost control of their marionettes and now lie entangled by the lines they once coerced. Idiots.) So sick of Lost.
CHUCK-Glad the Hannah fling didn't last long.
NCIS- Gibbs- I adore you. When you kiss Abby on the cheek I get so enamored. Best TV "he's the man" man.
BONES- For heaven sakes Brennan! You are denying yourself ultimate happiness. Subconsciously, you are very aware of this, which is why you draw closer to Booth through your partnership. You tighten your hold on that structure because it is a retracted form of what you could really have. BOOTH- I think I will name a son Seely. I don't know what it means, but it is pretty awesome.
PROJECT RUNWAY- I know you are over, but congratulations for the Lamest season ever. SO MAD that Maya quit (what better way to discover who you are as an artist than to be given four months with resources to start your own collection? HELLO). Disgusted that Mila went to fashion week & was almost considered the winner with her collection that walked straight out of Vogue 1994. Wishing I could see the rest of Jay's line, even though he dissed a beautiful model because she didn't like his clothes. Really indifferent to the winner. Whatever. I feel like Lifetime ruined one of the greatest reality shows EVER. Heidi needs a new stylist.
Now that I have got that all off of my chest I can slowly wean off of TV. See what happens when all of my best friends a)get married b) move to NYC c)go on missions? I have to find friends through the media and I randomly capitalize unnecessarily in my blog post. Now that I am finished with the GRE I can find friends the normal way, through Novels. YES YES YES

GRE! GRE! BLOGS HELP ME PRACTICE FOR THE GRE!
Issue Prompt- "It is always an individual who is the impetus for innovation; the details may be worked out by a team, but true innovation results from the enterprise and unique perception of an individual."
The argument that individuals are always the impetus for innovation is a controversial one. While history attributes popular events to the thoughts of one person, it also provides the details to prove that one person could never produce change on his own. In the final analysis, I believe that the people in an innovator’s environment are too influential to deny credit.
It is often said, “no man is an island.” Perhaps this means that every man (or woman) has some form of community. One of the greatest arguments of all time (nature vs. nurture) is unsolvable because both are established as determining factors. People are a product of their environment and their genetics. It must be accepted that a community, or team, produces intra-communal influence. The innovations that are often ascribed to one person are a result of the cumulative ideas of one team, community, school, or family.
It is argued that the teams may work the fine points of change, but the force that drives them to work most likely comes from one person. One person in history to consider could be Alexander The Great. His title undisputedly implies singularity. He had armies to help him conquer, theoretically, the world, but it is only his name that will have a grandiose adjective attached to it forever.
Alexander the Great was the impetus of expanding borders and lasting tales of his cunning. However, Alexander the Great had an impetus of his own. History lessons may not teach the inner workings of Alexander the Great’s journal, but it does tell us who taught Alexander the Great. Exceptional teachers change the perceptions of the pupils. Plato may have introduced the very perceptions that became Alexander the Great’s inner propulsion. Plato the teacher was once Plato the pupil. It is a facile presumption that Aristotle had as much to do with Alexander the Great’s innovations as did Plato or Alexander the Great himself. This demonstrates that teamwork can span time. Another historic correlation of individuals insinuates that joint effort can span space as well. In the time of both slavery abolition in Great Britain and the rising American Revolution two innovators sought each other’s inspiration, advice, and support. William Willberforce, proponent of dissolving the slave trade, and Thomas Jefferson, a distinguished writer of the Declaration of Independence wrote letters beyond their own borders in search of comfort. Beyond such a bond, both men had a local camaraderie with men and women seeking after goals that coincided with their own. Without considering the longitudinal influences both may have had from mentors, parents, etc. both had a lateral network of support and even leadership.
In conclusion, the idea that individuals are always the action that causes reaction is as debatable as the idea that either nature or nurture is dominant. In the final analysis it is my belief that groups of individuals who act together are the real force of innovation. The equivocal definition of teamwork lumps influences throughout space and time into the makeup of one individual. The world view that a specific innovator experiences could be inspired by any of the generations past or the community that surrounds him.

Inspired By a Worlds' First

100% Compostable Chip Bag
The new SunChip bag has inspired me. Not unlike many others, I have felt pressured by the celebrity-provoked guilt trip on the subject of THE PLANET. I have read magazines and seen so much green propaganda that I began to hate the subject. I have tried not to be wasteful. I reuse stuff. I eat/use all the groceries I buy and leftovers. I make rugs out of scraps for crying out loud. However, the heavy saturation of green lectures made me feel so bad that I thought I was too tall to ever really be green. You see, being tall made me use more material. If I was short and skinny I wouldn't be so wasteful.
The good news is I only felt that way for a day. I decided just to do what I could do and not worry so much about all the really expensive stuff. Then came the chip bag. The 100% compostable (meaning you can grow your food storage with it) SunChip bag is the perfect example of how a company that decided to break ground by just being better. They have engineered the FIRST chip bag in the WORLD that can decompose. They didn't change everything about their manufacturing. They just wanted to make a difference by editing the packaging. The result is one tall, happy customer and a chip bag revolution.
Moments like this remind me of my graduation. As Elder Scott spoke I began to feel inadequate. I started having anxiety and anger because I wasn't perfect. Right then the Spirit spoke to me and told me I had my whole life to work on everything- one thing at a time. And that it would probably take my whole life to even come close. When the SunChip bag came out it kind of reminded me of that. Lift where you stand, find the middle way, work line upon line, baby steps, and every other statement that tells us we should be satisfied with sufficiency. Do your best every day to make this world a better place.

Kentucky Blue Grass & the G-force
My two most embarrassing moments:

1. The first summer I spent in Rexburg began with the hunt. The hunt for employment= story of my life. It is the story of all our lives! I had a handful of applications in & an interview lined up. Lindsey was looking for a job as well. Lindsey got a list from the Employment Office in Rexburg. Of course all of it was hard labor jobs. Lindsey had a job in mind, but didn't want to go alone. The job description involved the ability to lift 50 lbs. multiple times a day. I paused there & wondered why Lindsey wanted this job. The job was at a SOD FARM!! I tried so hard to talk her out of it but somehow I ended up in the car driving in the middle of nowhere down a dirt rode surrounded by mud & sod. In the car I see a trailer and a mobile home. When we pull up to the said equipment I see two men dressed in coveralls & irregation boots doing something farmish with a knife. They are looking at us, wondering if we are lost. I look down. I have on dress pants & a nice shirt. I am wearing black dress shoes. My hair is curled. Lindsey is dressed the same way. I look at her and say in frantic voice as my face reddens, "Turn the car around. What are we doing here? I am not getting out of the car." After a few moments of repeating, "what are we doing, what are we doing, what are we doing" with my hands covering my crimson face I felt sick. Sitting in the car while a couple of sod farmers were considering how to tell us that they didn't want any girl scout cookies was not the most embarrassing part of this whole episode. We actually had to get out of the car. Lindsey said something about how we came all this way and she told her mom she would turn in an application. I felt blind, deaf, and dumb. I could hear Lindsey ask for Mike. In my slightly heeled black shoes I stepped into the mud and walked past the dumbfounded farmers into the mobile home to talk to Mike about a job. The five minutes spent felt like hours. I kept glancing at the car wishing I was in it and hidden from sight. I don't know how all of those guys kept a straight face. I could see the laughter in their eyes. They were dying to talk about it. Finally we made it back in the car & I sank to the floor. I was frustrated and amazed at my own audacity, or rather Lindsey's because if it were up to me we would have turned around. I think she was interested in the 9$/hour. The irony to this story is that we ended up working that summer installing sprinkler systems. One day we even installed sod.
2. Elder meets G-Force
This was probably back when I was just a DD-force. I was at the farewell dinner for my friend. We had gotten to know each other a little bit over the summer. He was better friends with Lindsey & Ariel. I was wearing a shirt that I had so cleverly crafted. I loved this shirt. I loved it so much that I continued to wear it even after the buttons stopped buttoning over the G's (or DD's). I wore it even after the shoulders were so tight I could not raise my arms above my head. I buttoned it the middle button & wore a tank top underneath. When it was time to say goodbye I hugged him over the shoulders. 1st mistake. With my shirt so tight I couldn't really lift my shoulders all the way. Lifting my arms in combination with double the D's put double the strain on the one button holding me together. Then my friend squeezed me and all potential energy was released. He was shot in the stomach with a button & everyone surrounding us heard it. My shirt was all the way open & I actually think I re-buttoned it in the middle of the circle as everyone laughed. This missionary-to-be and lover of Star Wars for the first time in his life finally felt the Force.
